Docetaxel (Taxotere.) is a synthetic drug based on chemicals found in the yew tree. The drug's mechanism of action is similar to that of pacliltaxel in that it inhibits the breakdown of microtubules and inhibits cell division. Malignancies for which docetaxel is used include: Breast cancer (advanced or metastatic) Non-small cell lung cancer
