It blocks epidermal melanin biosynthesis by inhibiting enzymatic oxidation of Tyrosine and Dopa. Structurally, Alpha-Arbutin is an α-glucoside. Theα-glucoside bond offers higher stability and efficay than the β-form in the related Beta-Arbutin.
Alpha-Arbutin also minimizes liver spots, reduces the degree of skin tanning after UV exposure and meets all the requirements of a modern skin-brightening and skin depigmentation product.
